Grenada: Stakeholder consultations underway as part of the preparation of the 2023 budget
Granada: The Government of Grenada has begun preparations for the national budget for the fiscal year 2023, which will be presented to Parliament at Mt. Wheldale later this year.
A series of sectoral consultations and town hall meetings began under the theme “your budget, your voice counts”.
To ensure maximum participation, the Ministry of Finance engages stakeholder and sector groups and individuals at parish and national levels.
Consultations will be:-
- Provide an overview of Grenada’s economic performance for 2022.
- Strategic focus on the 2023 budget.
- Explain the budget preparation process.
- Solicit opinions on specific sector issues and priorities that should be addressed
in the budget.
Parish consultations will begin from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as follows:-
Carriacou: Hillsborough Government School, September 22
St George: GBSS, September 26
St Patrick’s Day: McDonald’s College, September 27
St David: Westerhall High School, September 28
St Mark: Bonair Government School, September 29
St Andrew: Grenville Secondary School, October 3
St John: St John’s Anglican School, October 4
The consultations will conclude with a consolidated virtual stakeholder engagement on October 5, 2022.
It will include representatives from agriculture, tourism, the financial sector, trade unions and the private sector, among others. To contribute to the 2023 budget, comments can be submitted by visiting finance. god.
