Stock markets lost Tk10,000 in capital after new budget – The Daily Industry
Al-Ehsan: Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) jointly lost about Tk 10,000 crore in market capital after the budget announcement. Ahead of Eid al-Azha, a possibility would arise to continue losing capital for the next two weeks in both markets.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal proposed the budget for the financial year 2022-2023 on June 09. On that day, the market capital of the DSE was 5 lakhs 22,000 and 881 crore and the market capital of the CSE was 4 lakhs 53,000 and 880 crore. . Yesterday, the closing market capital was Tk 5 lakhs 17,000 and Tk 255 crore in DSE and Tk 4 lakhs 49,000 and Tk 688 crore in CSE. DSE lost Tk 5626 crore and CSE lost Tk 4192 crore of market capital. The total amount of the lost amount is Tk. 9818 crore.
On the day of the budget proposal, the commercial value amount of DSE was Tk 758 crore and the commercial value amount of CSE was Tk 30 crore. The last two days, the trade value amount of DSE was Tk 654 crore and Tk 662 crore and the trade value amount of CSE was Tk 17 and 28 crore. There have been fewer transactions on both stock markets over the current week.
DSE lost Tk 2,776 crore on June 12 and Tk 2,281 crore on June 13 this year. And the CSE also lost Tk 1471 crore on June 12 and Tk 2595 crore on June 13.
