UK appoints ex-BoE policymaker Miles to budget office By Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) – UK Finance Minister Rishi Sunak has appointed David Miles, a former head of interest rate setting at the Bank of England, to join the Office for Budget Responsibility, the fiscal and forecasting surveillance of the country.

If approved by Parliament’s Treasury Committee, Miles will begin a five-year term Jan. 1 to replace Charles Bean, who is resigning, the Finance Department said on Friday.
